Bradninch & Kentisbeare Under-10s came out on top by the smallest of margins when they made the short trip to take on neighbours Cullompton. At the end of the game the margin of success was five runs!
When Cullompton batted they scored 270-5 in their 16 overs which became a net total of 300. B&K replied with 280-6 which became a net score of 305!
In terms of the B&K bowling effort, all eight players turned their arm over with Noah keeping wicket for the first eight overs and then Jacob W took over, wearing the gloves for overs nine to sixteen.
With each player sending down two overs it was Dylan who returned the pick of the figures with his 2-12. Noah finished with 1-10 and thereafter the returns were: Ellie (0-9), Jacob W (0-11), Teddy (0-12), Robert (0-12), Bertie (0-13) and Jacob S (0-14).
When B&K batted it was Bertie who took the batting honours with his contribution of 15 runs – including a couple of excellent boundaries. The ‘best of the rest’ for the batting was the seven scored by Jacob S and the other contributions were: Dylan (6), Jacob W (6), Robert (5), Teddy (4), Ellie (3) and Noah (1).
Given this was a first hard ball contest for the team, they have all done REALLY well.
