After the celebrations of this past Saturday – celebrations the like of which our Cricket Club has not seen before – we turn our attention to the 2022 BAILS BASH. To those who are new to the area, and indeed, our club, the BAILS BASH is an annual event when we come together to celebrate the life of ‘one of our own’ (Simon Bailey) and also enjoy a day of short format cricket that brings smiles and laughter aplenty!
This years BAILS BASH is this coming Saturday (September 10) and has a start time of 11am and we ask everyone – and anyone – who wants to take part, to be at the Kensham Club for 11am when we will select teams to contest a day of T10 (10 overs) cricket.
Last years competition was contested as an 8-a-side competition and, like previous years, the action is all done and dusted by around 6.30pm when the BAILS BASH trophy is presented to the winning team.
To join in the fun at a BAILS BASH meeting you do not need to be a regular cricketer. Indeed, the day always provides a mix of 1st XI, 2nd XI, Ladies XI, Colts’ and other folk, some who might consider themselves to be aspiring cricketers, some who are clearly ‘over the hill’ and some who simply want to ‘have a go’ at putting willow on leather!
So, there you are, an OPEN INVITE to join in the fun and, for all those who wish to take part in the 2022 BAILS BASH – see you at the Kensham Club before 11am this coming Saturday (September 10).
