On Saturday, October 5th, the Bradninch and Kentisbeare Cricket Club came together to celebrate another memorable season at their Annual Awards Night. The evening was a fantastic opportunity to honor the dedication, talent, and sportsmanship displayed across all teams throughout the year.

The night featured heartfelt speeches, a celebration of individual and team successes, and recognition of those who go above and beyond for the club. Here are the award winners for the 2024 season:

1st XI Awards

  • Batsman of the Year: Mitch Pugh
  • Bowler of the Year: Josh Farley
  • Players’ Player: Josh Farley

2nd XI Awards

  • Batsman of the Year: Scott Chappell
  • Bowler of the Year: Joe Gillett
  • Players’ Player: James Mills

3rd XI Awards

  • Batsman of the Year: Tim Percival
  • Bowler of the Year: Lewis Coombes
  • Players’ Player: Tim Percival

Ladies Team Awards

  • Batter of the Year: Megan Acton
  • Bowler of the Year: Faye Ross
  • Fielder of the Year: Emma Farley

Special Club Awards

  • Spirit of Cricket Award: Jackson Reed – For embodying the values of sportsmanship and teamwork.
  • Edenvale Grassroots Award: Hugo Doyle – Recognising a player who transitioned from our youth set up to senior cricket.
  • Clubperson of the Year: Alan Rodgers – For his outstanding commitment and service to the club, particularly our junior section.
  • Young Player of the Year: Jonathan Triner – A rising star with incredible potential. A number of dominant performances in his maiden season at Premier level,
  • Player of the Year: Mitch Pugh – The standout performer across the season, helping us clinch our 2nd Premier Division title.

A Night to Remember

The awards night highlighted the depth of talent and passion within the Bradninch and Kentisbeare Cricket Club. The evening concluded with thanks to all players, coaches, and volunteers who contribute to the club’s success. Special recognition was given to Alan Rodgers, whose dedication as Clubperson of the Year exemplifies the spirit of this cricketing community.
