As we approach the end of another fantastic season, it’s time to think ahead to our Annual General Meeting, which will take place at the end of February (date to be confirmed). This meeting is an important opportunity for all of us to reflect on the achievements of the past year and to look ahead to what promises to be an exciting future for our club. There is much work to do to continue growing the membership and building the club with the future in mind.
To keep our club thriving, we rely on the dedication and contributions of our members. This year, several key roles within the club need to be filled, and we are reaching out to ask for your help in stepping into these positions or spreading the word to those who might be interested.
The roles we are seeking to fill include:
Chairperson: Providing leadership and guidance for the club’s overall direction. Great thanks go to Christopher Dean for his service during what has been the most successful period for the club in its history.
Membership Secretary: Overseeing member registrations, renewals, and communications.
Events Secretary: Planning and coordinating club events, from social gatherings to fundraisers, working alongside an event sub-committee.
Marketing: Promoting the club through social media, online newsletters, and outreach initiatives.
Junior Managers: Helping to guide and support our U12s and U11 girls’ teams in their growth and development.
We also need extra support for our junior and senior teams, including:
Coaches: To help our young players develop their skills and confidence.
Matchday and Training Volunteers: Assisting with setup, supervision, and general organisation to ensure smooth sessions and enjoyable match days.
Umpires: Ensuring fair play and smooth running of our matches.
Scorers: Keeping track of match details and ensuring accurate results. All training can be provided!
As always, all roles on the committee are open for re-election so if you want to get involved in any capacity, there are plenty of ways!
While some of these roles form part of the main committee, and others can do if desired, not all need to be. We also have several subcommittees that need fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to ensure the club runs smoothly.
If you’re unsure about what’s involved or would like more details, we’d be delighted to discuss how you could help. Each role is flexible, and support is available to ensure you’re comfortable in your responsibilities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the club’s success and help build a vibrant and inclusive cricketing community for everyone.
If you’re interested in any of these roles or would like to learn more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Christopher Dean or Eliot Acton.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to seeing many of you at the AGM. Together, we can continue to build a strong and exciting future for our club.
