Bradninch & Kentisbeare Ladies defeated neighbours Cullompton for the second time in as many days when they won a Super Eights fixture played at Plymtree.

B&K skipper Meg Acton starred with the bat and, for the second game in succession she made a speedy 30 – in this case 31 – before retiring with her wicket intact.

Abbey Hayes and Yvonne Jackson each chipped in with knocks of 21 and Florence Elliott scored 10 as, batting first over their 16 overs, B&K closed on 117-3.

Chloe Phillips and Karen James were the two Cullompton bowlers to claim a wicket.

In their reply it was Cully batter Jess Phillips who took the honours scoring 39 before she fell to a Florence Elliott delivery that castled into the stumps.

However, no one else was able to record a double figure score as the team were bowled out for 74 in 1o.4 overs.

Megan Acton called four of her team into action in terms of the bowling and it was Yvonne Jackson who starred, claiming three wickets for 34 runs from her four overs.

Once again, young Faye Ross was amongst the wickets with her return being 2-24 from four overs and both the others to bowl enjoyed success with Victoria West claiming 1-7 from one over while Florence Elliott, with that afore mentioned wicket of Jess Phillips, finished with a return of 1-8 from 1.4 overs.
