The magnificent double century stand for the opening wicket in Saturday’s eight wicket home victory over Sandford set us looking through the record books – certainly since the Millennium – to see just how the 221 put on by Gary Chappell and Tim Piper stands against all the other year-on-year ‘top partnerships’ and……..its the best by some way!

Indeed, if we go back SEVENTEEN years to 2005 – it was again the Gary Chappell and Tim Piper combination who chalked up the best partnership of the 2005 season when they put on 117 for the third wicket in the then, annual friendly at home to Bristol-based Stapleton.
