The club has re-signed Tim Piper, who has returned to Kensham Park after a spell with Exmouth.
We caught up with Tim and, first up we asked…..
‘Tim, you are coming back to Kensham Park, what was the main reason for this happening’?
Tim replied saying: “There are plenty of reasons to want to play at Bradninch. Good mates and the history I have with the club is top of the list. But also I want to play Premier cricket still and to try and compete against the best players in the county.“
Next up we asked: ‘In your last season at Kensham Park you had a great season with the bat and, now, we seem to have even better tracks at ‘Ninch’, how much are you looking forward to scoring runs in front of old friends once more’?
Tim said: “The Ninch is my favourite place to bat. Usually there’s plenty of runs in it and and a lightning outfield. Hopefully I can raise my bat again a few times this year. After being ill for most of last season I can’t wait to get stuck in again.”
We then asked: ‘You return with the club back in the top flight, what sort of a season ahead do you see for the team’?
Tim replied saying: “I think the team has really developed in the last couple years, with lots of other players getting some valuable experience and standing up to win games. From what I hear, there’s a great feeling around the club at the moment. For me there is no doubt that ‘The Ninch’ can compete with the best. Everyone knows that.”
Next up, we asked: ‘What is the thing you are most looking forward to with regard to your return to Ninch‘?
This drew a simple single line answer of: “Beating Chaps (Bradninch CC skipper Gary Chappell), to the batting award again.“
Finally we asked: ‘Do you have a closing word or two for Exmouth – no doubt you are saying cheerio to a fine club and some fine players’.
Tim replied saying: “Covid seasons and ill health got in the way of what I was hoping to achieve at Exmouth. They’re a great bunch of lads to play with and I really hope they go back up to the Premier where they deserve to be.”
‘Welcome home’ Tim, we hope you have a great season – and then following season’s.
