Bradninch & Kentisbeare Under-10s were 36-run winners when they met Heathcoat in the sides first competitive outing of the 2024 season.
Heathcoat batted first and closed on 244-3 after 16 overs – this becoming a net score of 254. When Bradninch & Kentisbeare batted they closed on 275-2 from their 16 overs and this equated to a net score of 290 – hence the 36 run winning margin.
In terms of the ‘stars of the show’, in the Heathcoat innings Jacob AB claimed two wickets for just three runs from his two overs and the other wicket taker was Jacob W with his return being 1-9 from two overs. Also most worthy of mention was Ellie who sent down her two overs and conceded just four runs. The other bowling returns were: Casper (0-8 from two overs), Archie (0-8 from two), Noah (0-8 from two), Harrison (0-7 from two) and Betsy (0-6 from two).
When Bradninch & Kentisbeare batted the top scorer was Jacob AB who contributed a knock of eight. Archie recorded the next best total with his knock of five while both Jacob W and Casper registered scores of two and Ellie also contributed with her one run.
